Glazed Art
Glazed Art is all about individuality. Each piece is unique, a combination of contemporary design and traditional skills, blending old and new, hand and machine, tradition and innovation.
All our products are made in our Burslem studio from locally produced materials sourced within the Stoke-On-Trent area. Each item is hand decorated with a variety of vibrant reactive glazes using both spray and hand painting techniques. A single piece will take at least one week to create, producing an individual piece of ceramic art work every time.

Jo Hearn
After many experiments Jo has developed a technique which allows her to achieve an affective and individual result, She paints using the unusual medium of ceramic glazes on clay.
Following a Fine Art degree in London, Jo has worked as a painter using oil, acrylic and silk paint. During an evening course in ceramics Jo decided that she wished to paint using ceramic glazes on clay. After many experiments she has developed a technique which allows her to achieve an affective and individual result, using underglazes and semitransparent overglazes, firing each piece three times in an electric kiln.
Each piece is unique, and while a certain amount of control can be achieved, the reaction of the glaze in the final kiln firing determines the final outcome.
Recently Jo has developed a range of wall-pieces using landscapes from Staffordshire and the Peak District, near to Stone where she lives. She combines a painters appreciation of landscape with a highly unique ceramic application. The wall pieces are mounted on a back plate of sandblast glass.
